About Me

Hi, my names Tania and I'm the owner and founder of Blissful Baking. A cake decorating business specialising in buttercream designs that I started back in 2014. I'm also a mum to a 2 and 5 year old, wife and Australian living in the UK.

Blissful Baking started as an idea back when I was working in the corporate world, fighting crowds on the tube and being frustrated with office politics. Baking was always my 'out', a place I could escape to when I needed.

​

My decorating experience has been built on practice (loads of it) as well as attending courses in London and because I've got young kids, a lot of online courses.

​

I really got hooked on buttercream after attending my first face-to-face course at Dawn Welton Cake School in London by Thao from Don't Tell Charles. I took home skills to build on the perfection of a smooth finish and sharp edges (which is a killer if you're a perfectionist!).

​

In early 2020, I was awarded the Regional Winner (South West) in the The Cake Professionals Awards 2020 for the Buttercream category. An absolute shock and complete honour to be awarded this amongst some amazing and talented cake decorators in the UK.

 

Of course skills count for one thing but to ensure you create something beautiful you need a passion for what you do. That is what helps drive those late nights when I'm busily finishing off a client design. The ultimate achievement is seeing client reactions and receiving feedback at the end of the day.

Blissful Baking specialises in modern buttercream designs which means my standard height cake starts at a tall (6 inches). I also specialise in double barrel cakes (10 inches high). Finishes can vary depending on your occasion but include watercolour, cement and textured buttercream. Decorations can then include fresh flowers, chocolate sails, isomalt sails, macarons, meringues, lollipops etc.
